About Us

Counseling Services

Conveniently located in Albuquerque’s West Side, we specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, domestic violence, women’s issues, and relationships. We believe that the most important aspect of therapy is the client’s relationship with the therapist – the client needs to trust the therapist and feel comfortable. Our initial goal is to create an atmosphere of safety. Sometimes it is necessary to access guidance from a professional outside of the current situation in order to assist in gaining perspective.

We practice using a collaborative, strength based approach. Treatment focuses on increasing awareness about life patterns, building on strengths, and developing new coping strategies. Our professional strengths include knowledge of presenting issues and treatment options, and an ability to connect easily with clients.

We have a strong background working with troubled teens, victims of domestic violence, and families going through difficult times. Our clients feel that we are easy to talk to and genuinely attuned to their needs.

Monday-Saturday: day and evening appointments available.

“Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start.”

Kristine Aguirre, LCSW

Kristine Aguirre, LCSW

Counselor

Kristine is a licensed clinical social worker with over 25 years of experience.  She believes everyone deserves to find joy in their lives.  Sometimes that joy is blocked by the various struggles that life brings.  She hopes to provide clarity, support, and encouragement and skills to her clients in their quest for their joy.

Kris is originally from Wisconsin where she got her Bachelors in Social Work.  She moved to New Mexico in 1990 and got her Masters in Social Work from New Mexico Highland’s University.

While most of her work has been with at risk teenagers, parents and foster parents, her most recent work has been working with teen victims of sexual assault and non offending caretakers.  Kris is familiar with how sexual abuse and sexual assault can affect every aspect of a person’s life, and brings new challenges to a parent or caregiver.  She uses trauma informed care in providing a safe and supportive environment needed to develop the relationship to work on these issues.  Her understanding of common responses to sexual trauma allows for her to provide psychoeducation to her client, and assist in the development of safety planning and coping skills.

Kris uses a variety of modalities with her clients including Mindfulness and Solutions Focused Therapy, CBT and DBT.

Kris specializes in using a strength based approach to work with clients who experience depression, anxiety, anger issues, and difficulty regulating mood and behaviors.

Lenore Baeli Wang, MA, LPCC

Lenore Baeli Wang, MA, LPCC

Counselor

Lenore Baeli Wang, strongly believes that having been on both sides of the therapeutic couch or

chair is essential to doing good healing work. She espouses that our hurt areas from recent or distant

past events can re-wound our current lives and relationships, and that past relationship traumas must

be healed through current healthy relationships — of which the therapeutic relationship is a model,

significant tool, and foundation.

She has been in practice since 2005 and works with couples, individuals, and parent-child dyads.

She believes in the necessity of strengthening ways of relating to enrich and empower all other areas of life, as well. Including the foundational and identity-forming (or re-forming) relationship with yourself!

She has many years of experience working with communication skills, from behavioral to deeper psychotherapeutic and spiritual levels.

Lenore will help deepen self-reflection/introspection toward healing anxieties, mood management,

trauma, transitions, vocational searches, relapse prevention/addictions, spiritual paths, self-

empowerment, and unearthing meaning so you can live your fullest, most satisfying life potential.

Lenore enjoys couples counseling. She is skilled at Imago, and also utilizes an eclectic rather than rigid approach in working with couples. She sees the healing process through the lens of relationship, and also utilize Imago to heal and improve relationship through parent-child dyads too!

Whether you want to work on yourself individually, or in the context of a two-person relationship,

Lenore would be thrilled and excited to assist you in your healing, or simply your growth into the best

self you were meant to be.

There’s a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in.
